SHETLAND LACE AT HOME - DINE Impress your guests with this stylish Shetland Lace knit dining set for your coffee or dining table. This course offers a chance to meet online and learn the process to create a collection of a coaster, table mat, napkin ring and napkin. Original patterns for 4 complete matching sets of coasters, tablemats, napkin rings and napkins are included.

WHAT WILL I LEARN? You'll learn to knit small pieces of Shetland Lace with an integral backing which highlights the lace and provides body to your pieces. 

WHAT WILL I GAIN? You'll gain patterns, knowledge and skills necessary to knit a Shetland Lace Dining Set and the skills to knit many more. Before each class you will be emailed a pdf of the pattern for that class. You'll have direct, live access to Helen during the classes. You'll also have the company of other knitters from the worldwide knitting community during the classes. 

HOW WILL I BE TAUGHT? We will meet on 4 occasions lasting 2.5 hours each. You will be taken through each pattern and will see short prerecorded video clips to illustrate techniques. 

WHAT LEVEL IS THIS COURSE SUITABLE FOR? This class is for you if you can already cast on and off and knit comfortably. You can chose from the simpler or more complicated lace patterns provided to suit your experience and confidence.

WHAT IF I MISS A CLASS? All classes are recorded and you'll have access to the recording for 4 weeks following the class. 

WHAT IF I GET STUCK? You'll receive the help you need to complete the project. I have many years of experience teaching knitting in person and online and endless patience.

WHAT MATERIALS DO I NEED? You'll need lace weight yarn and jumper weight/4ply, and linen 4ply yarn. Exact quantities will be included in the patterns. You'll also need buttons or other fastenings for the napkin rings. A kit is available to order separately if you prefer. 

WHAT EQUIPMENT DO I NEED? You'll need needles to knit flat. Exact sizes to be advised before the start of the course.

WHEN WILL THE CLASS RUN? This class is scheduled to run in March 2027 on Tuesdays 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd. Alternative dates and times can be organised.
