Created to emulate the driftwood birch bark that floats to Shetland's shore from Canada. These small coils of silver birch bark travel all the way across the atlantic ocean and wash up on our shores. Known locally by various names including Loki’s Candle and Willie Lowe these are gathered and kept for firelighters or display. These are made so they can be worn or displayed as a beachcomer’s treasure.
