Wire Knit Lampshade Class Online - June 21st 3pm - 9pm BST (10 am EDT)

Learn the secrets of wire knitting and at the same time knit a gorgeous table lamp.

You will receive wire suitable for knitting your lampshade,  pdf booklet with 6 patterns and a knit along film recorded in the Shetland landscape. The patterns vary from very easy to more complicated. I will run a 6 hour Live Zoom class. We will take 2 x 15 min breaks, believe me, the time will fly by! 

No previous wire knitting experience I required. I have taught this class to complete beginners, (for online classes it is useful to know how to cast on and knit.

As the inspiration for these lampshades was the fine lace knitting developed by Shetland knitters in the past, the Knit a Long footage is shot outside on a working croft.

If in the UK you can order the Everyday Lamp from John Lewis OR the Tvarfot or Ringsta Lamp from IKEA. for non-Uk based knitters I recommend the Tvarfot or Ringsta lamps. Patterns will be provided for all 3 of these shade sizes. If in doubt, please email me to ask.
